This original mixed-media piece is part of a new series of work exploring our relationships to one another and the space around us. It pulls from images of Italian women who arrived at Ellis Island around the same time as my great-grandmother did. 

The image is built up from layers of ink, watercolor, charcoal, and pencil on watercolor paper. It measures 30x24cm (11.8x9.4in).
